Large Language Models for Health and Medical research
By improving the analysis of massive data, particularly in the field of public health, LLMs are transforming medical research. Their applications are numerous, including medical record transcription, appointment scheduling and patient communication management, clinical decision support, interactive educational tools, new drug development and personalized medicine, and many other examples that we propose to explore in this webinar.
First Keynote's title: Enabling Scientific Breakthroughs with Meta’s Open Source Models
Summary: Kristin Lauter, Senior Director of AI Research at Meta, will speak on the application of Meta's AI models in health and medical research, focusing on large language models, image segmentation, and speech models. The talk will explore the potential applications for AI in various medical fields such as oncology, radiology, and histopathology, highlighting their impact on processing structured and unstructured data, automating image segmentation, advancing disease detection, and safeguarding data privacy.
Second Keynote's title: Healthcare in the era of GenAI
Summary: Rob Brisk, from Google’s AI Research in Health team, will talk about the implications of recent GenAI breakthroughs for 21st century healthcare. This talk will discuss salient breakthroughs in foundation models over recent years, key trends today, and changes we might see in healthcare moving forward. Rob’s experience combines GenAI research at Google and Nvidia with the grounding of over 15 years as a frontline NHS physician.
